The Bar Council Meeting No.1/2024 was held at the Bar Council Office in Cluster1, Building No.6, Nay Pyi Taw Goal Camp, Wanathidi Quarter, Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw at 10:00 a.m..
During the meeting, the following matters were discussed and determined, including the request from the Union Supreme Court regarding whether there are any objections to the application for enrolment as advocates by 527 higher grade pleaders, the request from the Union Supreme Court regarding whether action should be taken or not against 15 advocates who violate professional conduct under section 10(1) of the Bar Council Act, submission of petition to make re-proceeding as advocates, assignment of a member of the Bar Council as an IP member, the land permitted to build the Bar Council Office and the opening of the Bar Council (Mandalay).
H.E. Dr. Thida Oo, the Union Minister of the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Attorney General of the Union as well as the Chairperson of the Bar Council, U Myo Tint, the Supreme Court Judge of the Union Supreme Court and Vice-Chairperson of the Bar Council, Dr. Htein Lin 00, Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General of the Union and member of the Bar Council, the advocates U Mya Thein, Daw Khin Nu Thar, U Hla Han, U Soe Thein, U Win Phay and U Win Aung who are the members of the Bar Council, Dr. Thi Thi Myint, the secretary of the Bar Council and Director General of the Minister’s Office of the Ministry of Legal Affairs, attended the meeting.
