H.E. U Tun Tun Oo, Attorney General of the Union, separately received a delegation led by Ms.Christina Beninger, Field Program Manager, from IDLO at 11:30 am and a delegation led by Dr.Phillip Tahmindjis AM, Director, from International Lawyers Association at 2:00 pm in the international call chamber of the Union Attorney General’s Office.
During the meeting with the IDLO delegation, they discussed findings from and suggestion to the training need assessment report compiled by IDLO; works necessary to promote training of the Union Attorney General’s Office; extension activities for cooperation between IDLO and Union Attorney General’s Office in accordance with the signed MoU and matters for publishing Fair Trial Standard books.
During the meeting with International Lawyers Association, they discussed the performance of the Myanmar Bar Council, situation to revise and enact new Bar Council Act and Legal Practitioners Act; ethics and disciplinary matters of lawyers; matters for cooperation between Union Attorney General’s Office and International Lawyers Association.
Daw Nu Nu Yin, Permanent Secretary, Daw Khin Cho Ohn, Dr.Thida Oo and U Min Swe, Director Generals, attended these meetings.
