The Attorney General of the Union meets separately to discuss with Ambassadors of the United States of America, Italy and European Union

      H.E. U Tun Tun Oo, the Attorney General of the Union received separately H.E. Mr. Scort Marciel, ambassador of the United States of America, H.E. Mr. Pier Giorgio Aliberti, ambassador of Italy and H.E. Mr. Khristian Schmidt, ambassador of European Union at the diplomat hall of the Union Attorney General’s Office this afternoon.

     During the meeting with H.E. Mr. Scort Marciel, ambassador of the United States of America, the Attorney General of the Union discussed the matters of giving special training on prosecution relating to transnational organized crime for some law officers chosen by the Union Attorney General’s Office, improving performances of pilot courts cooperating with USAID and Prevention and Protection of Violence against Women Bill.

      During the meeting with H.E. Mr. Pier Giorgio Aliberti, ambassador of Italy, the Attorney General of the Union discussed the matters of continuing in friendly cooperation between the two countries for the development of Myanmar, making clarification of legal frameworks and development of rule of law for enhancing trade and investment, earnestly taking democracy standards into consideration in vetting and advising the laws by the Union Attorney General’s Office.

       In meeting with H.E. Mr. Khristians Schmidt, ambassador of European Union, the Attorney General of the Union discussed the functions that can be more supported by EU in justice sectors of Myanmar, plans to draw a national strategy relating to rule of law and justice, rule of law centers and legal aids performed by “My Justice” team with EU support, other fields that can cooperate with the Union Attorney General’s Office and the function relating to vetting and advising the law.

     H.E. U Win Myint, the Deputy Attorney General, Daw Nu Nu Yin, the Permanent Secretary, Daw Khin Cho Ohn, Dr. Thida Oo and U Min Swe, Director Generals attended those meeting.
