Holding the First Meeting of the Supporting Working Group on Drafting National Land Law

The first meeting of the Supporting Working Group on Drafting the National Land Law was held at the ground floor meeting room of the Union Attorney General ‘s Office at 9:30a.m. this morning and H.E. U Win Myint, the Deputy Attorney General, Chairman of the Supporting Working Group on Drafting the National Land Law attended and delivered opening speech.

In his speech, the Deputy Attorney General said that drafting the National Land Law is the main duty of our working group and  he  encourages  the  participants  to discuss ongoing activities; the working group needs to study the relevant  existing laws to amend them for harmonization  with  each other  and drafting the National  Land Law in order to do that, small groups should be formed which includes representatives from the departments and organizations that manages the relevant  laws, experts and  law officers from our office ; the working committee will hold workshops and the working group needs to try hard for drafting a comprehensive National Land  Law  after considering outcomes of workshops and  he urges the participants to discuss and give suggestions on the contents of the draft law .

Afterwards, the secretary of the supporting working group presented the contents of the National Land Law (draft) and the participants discussed and gave suggestions on it. The meeting was concluded in the afternoon.
