The Coordination Meeting of the legal research team was held at the ground floor meeting room of the Ministry of Legal Affairs at 10:00 a.nm this morning in Nay Pyi Taw.
In the meeting, H.E. Dr.Thida Oo, the Union Minister and Union Attorney General said that the legal research works in Myanmar needs to be strengthened so that the true legal knowledge can be improved for the rule of law; the Ministry of Legal Affairs has implemented the strategic goal for the development of legal research work since 2016; recently the research works are being carried out effectively by 71 members; the research journal and a collection of research papers will be published after completing the research papers; the challenges of legal problems will be researched as a priority; the research papers (first time) have been written; the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the legal research team has also been designed; the legal research team needs to prepare the research paper to support to the Ministry of Legal Affairs to be an ideal organization which is trusted and respected by the public, to provide competent legal services for the public, to promote the rule of law, to ensure equal access to justice for all and to be ethical and qualified law officers.
The Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General U San Lwin, Directors General, Deputy Directors General, Directors, the members of the research team and the responsible persons from the legal research section attended this meeting.
