The final coordination meeting concerning the enactment of the Second Amending Law of Counter Terrorism Law (Draft) was held at 10:00 a.m. in the meeting hall of the Ministry of Legal Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
The Union Minister of the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Attorney General of the Union H.E. Dr.Thida Oo, the Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General Dr. Htain Lin Oo, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs H.E. Major General Toe Yee, Dr. Thida San, the Director General of the Legislative Draft Vetting Department and other officials attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union addressed an opening speech, and the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs explained that the Second Amending Law of Counter Terrorism Law (Draft) was drafted to implement an item relating to the finical action prescribed by Financial Action Task Force-FATF which Myanmar is required to fulfill; if this Amending Law is enacted, it will fulfill an item of Financial Action Task Force-FATA and serve as a showcase of Myanmar’s progress; it will assist in overcoming the Counter Measure listing. Then, the Union Minister of the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Attorney General of the Union H.E. Dr. Thida Oo and the members discussed the finalization of the Second Amending Law of Counter Terrorism Law as if was found to be enacted as a necessary Law.
