The Coordination Meeting for the Enactment of the Amending Law of the Cooperative Society Law (draft) was held in the meeting hall of the Ministry of Legal Affairs at 1:00 p.m. this afternoon.
The Union Minister of the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Attorney General of the Union H.E. Dr. T hida 00, the Union Minister U Hla Moe, the Deputy Minister U Myint Soe, the Permanent Secretary U Khant Zaw of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Director General of the Legislative Vetting Department Dr. T hida San and responsible persons, Director General of the Cooperatives Department U Aung Thura attended the meeting.
At the meeting2 the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union delivered an opening speech, and the Union Minister of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development discussed that the Cooperatives Department required to amend the existing Cooperative Society Law, 1992 to be consistence with the current situation of cooperative functions and to be effective performance of the development of the cooperative functions, and to add provisions for administrative actions, offences and penalties. General of the Union H.E. Dr. T hida 00 discussed that the amendment of the Cooperative Society Law (draft) is necessary to enact in line with the current situation and finalized the discussion for enacting the amendment law (draft).
