The Coordination Meeting Regarding the Law Amending the Revenue Appellate Tribunal Law (Draft) was held in the meeting hall of the Ministry of Legal Affairs at 10:00 A.M. this morning.
The Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union H.E. Dr. Thida Oo, Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General Dr. Htain Lin Oo, Director General Dr. Kyi Kyi Than Aung and the responsible persons from the Ministry of Legal Affairs and U Myint Oo, Chairperson, U Kyaw Kyaw and U Win Tin, Members, U Htet Aung, Director General of the Revenue Appellate Tribunal office and the responsible persons attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union delivered the opening remarks, and U Myint 00, Chairperson of the Revenue Appellate Tribunal explained and discussed that the intention to amend the Revenue Appellate Tribunal Law is to ensure that revenue appeal cases are received, heard, examined and decided with clear and comprehensive information and there is a fair revenue appeal procedures for both the State and taxpayers.
Subsequently, the responsible persons attending the meeting discussed the provisions contained in the Law Amending the Revenue Appellate Tribunal Law section by section. Upon their discussion, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union observed that the proposed Law Amending the Revenue Appellate Tribunal Law is intended to ensure consistency with the current situation and the amendment provisions are genuinely necessary to conduct the matters relating to the revenue appeal cases and to support the State’s revenue policy. Therefore, the final discussion was held to coordinate the enactment of the Law Amending the Revenue Appellate Tribunal Law (Draft).
