Attorney General of the Union receives Sir Jeffrey Jowell QC, Legal Expert from Britain

       H.E. U Tun Tun Oo, the Attorney General of the Union received Sir Jeffrey Jowell, a legal expert from Britain in the international call chamber of the Union Attorney General ‘s Office at 4:30 p.m. this evening.

       During the  meeting, they discussed that efforts for the development of Myanmar legal and judicial sector; Conference on Justice  Sector Coordination for the rule of law was held in March, 2018, and implementation of “Justice for the People” strategic plan (2019-2023) which was drawn up based on the outcomes of the suggestions and discussion from the Conference; works of the rule of law centre and justice sector coordinating body and subsidiary bodies ; amendment of the Bar Council Act and the role of lawyers for the development of judicial sectors; providing legal awareness by the rule of law  centres  of UNDP and IDLO, and status of cooperation with the Union Attorney General ‘s Office in the legal aid assistance of My Justice and IBJ.

      The Deputy Attorney General H.E. U Win Myint, Permanent Secretary Daw Nu Nu Yin, Directors General Dr. Thida Oo and Dr. Swe Swe Aung were also present at the meeting.
