The 5th Meeting of the Legal Translation Commission presiding the Attorney General of the Union as a Chairman was held at the meeting hall of the Union Attorney General ‘s Office at 10 a.m. today .
H.E. U Tun Tun Oo, the Attorney General of the Union, the Chairman of the Legal Translation Commission said that the first meeting of the Commission was held on 30 March, 2017 and the second meeting was held on 27 November , 2017 to 30 November, 2017; after that 9 laws were published on 27 June, 2018 with Notification No. 112018; the third meeting was held on 5 November, 2018 to 6 November, 20 18; then 6 laws were published with Notification No. 9/2019; the fourth meeting was held on 28 March , 2019 to 29 March, 20 19; in such meeting 5 laws were discussed and they will be published as a book soon; the legal translation work is not easy; it was accomplished by the collective effort of the members of the Commission and working committee, and repeated discussion it to be flawless; the law translation books volume 1 and 2 has been published and volume 3 and 4 are ongoing process to publish; the translation of five laws which are discussed in the fourth meeting have been handed over to the Ministry of Information to publish; there are 13 laws on going translation; only 43 laws will remain to translate; and then he urged to the Commission members to put an effort in translating the remaining laws to be flawless within reasonable time.
The members of the Legal Translation Commission and invited guests attended the meeting. The meeting will be in progress tomorrow.
