The First Coordination Meeting of the National Strategic Initiative ( 1) Implementation Supervisory Committee relating to the Anti-money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism was held at the meeting room of the office of the Attorney General of the Union at 10 a.m . this morning and the Deputy Attorney General U Win Myint, the Chairperson of the Committee, delivered the opening speech.
In the opening speech, the Deputy Attorney General U Win Myint said that the National Initiative (1) Implementation Supervisory Committee relating to the Anti-money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism shall monitor the performances of the departments and organizations that the policies, directives and legal frameworks of the Anti-money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism are consistent with the risks arisen in Myanmar, and to be developed and strengthened according to the international standards; the National Risk Assessment Committee was formed, and the National Risk Assessment has been performed with the technical assistance of IMF since 2015; the strategic plan was drawn with five initiatives on NRA’s findings, and the weaknesses and recommendations of Myanmar contained in the mutual evaluation report; encouraging the relevant department shall scrutinize the matters performed and needed to perform according to the initiative, and continues to perform the requirement; the Committee needs to present the performances of the relevant departments and organizations; the attendees may discuss and advise according to their sectors.
In addition, the Secretary of the Committee discussed the matters to be performed contained in the initiative (1) and to be performed according to the priority. The attended members discussed the matters that have been performed and needed to be performed according to their matters contained in the strategic initiative (1).
The members of the National Strategic Initiative (1) Implementation Supervisory Committee relating to the Anti -money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism and invited representatives attended this meeting.
