Holding Consultation Meeting on Strategic Plan (2020-2024) of Union Attorney General’s Office

H.E. U Tun Tun Oo, the Attorney General of the Union, attended and delivered a speech at the consultation meeting on Strategic Plan (2020-2024) of the Union Attorney General’s Office at the Kempinski hotel at 9 a.m. in Nay Pyi Taw, today.

In this meeting, the Attorney General of the Union said that the first Strategic Plan ( 2015-2019 ) of the Union Attorney General’s Office was developed by the assistance of UNDP in 2015; the strategic actions were implemented under Strategic Plan ( 2015-2019 ); the second Strategic Plan ( 2020-2024 ) was developed  by the assistance of USAID ( PRLM-Promoting Rule of law in Myanmar ) due to the implementation of Strategic Plan ( 2015-2019 ) will be accomplished in 2019; the Union Attorney General’s Office made firstly a survey on Human and Institutional Capacity Development (HICD) of the Union Attorney General’s Office for the second Strategic Plan ( 2020-2024 ) by  coordinating  with  USAID  (PRLM)  since 22 March 20 19; UNDP also made an analysis on implementation of the Strategic Plan ( 2015- 2019 ); the Strategic Plan (2020-2024 ) was developed for further 5 years by basing on weaknesses and strengths of and feedback on Strategic Plan (20 15-2019); the Strategic Plan (2020-2024 ) of the Union Attorney General’s Office and different levels of law offices was developed  to promote capacity of all law officers, to give legal advice effectively for the State and public, to promote access to justice for all, to be transparent in performing the functions of the Union Attorney General’s Office and to be an office that is trusted  by public.

The members of Pyithu Hluttaw Bill Committee and Amyotha Hluttaw Bill Committee, the Hluttaw representatives from Regions and States, the members of Myanmar Human Rights Commission, the Anti-corruption Commission, the Union Legal Aid Board, the Bar Council, senior officers from Government Organizations and Departments, Chief of Party from USAID (PRLM) and the representatives from International Partner Organizations also attended this consultation meeting.
