H.E. Dr. Thida Oo, the Union Minister of the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Attorney General of the Union received a delegation led by H.E. Mr. Igor Krasnov, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation in the international call chamber of the Ministry of Legal Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw at 9:30 a.m. this morning.
The visit of H.E. Mr. Igor Krasnov, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation and his delegation is the subsequent outcome of the bilateral cooperation on legal matters and discussion made between H.E. Mr. Konstantin Chuy Chenko, the Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation and H.E. Dr. Thida Oo, the Union Minister of the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Attorney General of the Union with an effort to sign two Memorandums of Cooperation: one with the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation and the other with the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation while she attended the 10th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum held from 28.6.2022 to 1.7.2022 in St. Petersburg, Russia with the invitation of the Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, both sides cordially discussed and exchanged views on the previous communication and relations between the Ministry of Legal Affairs of Myanmar and the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, bilateral cooperation on legal matters, mutual exchange of legal systems, legislative information and experiences of two nations, holding joint coordination, conferences, workshops and plenary discussion, arrangement on sending experts for knowledge and, sharing experience and learning.
Then, H.E. Dr. Thida Oo, the Union Minister of the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Attorney General of the Union and H.E. Mr. Igor Krasnav, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation singed the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Legal Affairs of Myanmar and the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation. The Directors General of the Ministry of Legal Affairs, H.E. Dr. NiKolay Listopadov, the Russian Ambassador to Myanmar, the Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation and the authorized persons attended the meeting.
After signing the Memorandum of Legal Cooperation, H,E. Dr. Thida Oo, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union and the delegation led by H.E. Mr. Igor Krasnav, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation visited to Uppatasanti Pagoda, the guests signed in the guest record and fed the white elephants at the Yadana white elephant hall located in the precinct of the pagoda.
H.E. Dr. Thida Oo, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union hosted lunch for the delegation led by Mr. Igor Krasnav, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation at the Jasmine Nay Pyi Taw Hotel. The Union Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Union Minister of the Ministry of International Cooperation and H.E. Dr. NiKolay Listopadov, the Russion Ambassador to Myanmar attended the event.
The opening ceremony of “the Seminor on Legal Cooperation between the Ministry of Legal Affairs, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russia Federation” jointly organized under the cooperation between the Ministry of Legal Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation held at 13:00 p.m. on 21.3.2023 in the meeting hall of the Ministry of Legal Affairs and the Chairman of Anti-Corruption Commission and Directors General, Deputy Directors General and Directors from the Ministry of Legal Affairs attended the ceremony.
In the discussion, Mr. Sergey Vladimirovich Plokhov, the Deputy Director General of the General Department of International Legal Cooperation lectured on “Topical direction of international legal cooperation of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation in the context of modern threats and challenges” and Mr. Denis Kunev, the Deputy Director General of the General Organizational and Analytical Department lectured on “the Russian experience of countering crimes in IT-sphere, including illicit turnover of cryptocurrency and other virtual assets, the total number of 75 persons: 45 law officers from the Ministry of Legal Affairs, 8 officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs, 7 officers from the Anti-Corruption Commission and 15 law specialized students from Nay Pyi Taw State Academy attended the discussion and they raised the questions on the lectures.
The visit of H.E. Mr. Igor Krasnov, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation and his delegation is a trip for the establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Myanmar and the Russian Federation during the 75th Anniversary of Diamond Jubilee; during the visit, the signing ceremony on Legal Cooperation between the Ministry of Legal Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation is held; and the Seminar on Legal Cooperation is held for the benefits of the bilateral relations between the two nations and strengthening the friendly relations and trust between the two nations and the cooperation on legal matters between the two nations.
