Holding the Opening Ceremony of Legal Advocacy Training Course No.3 for the Heads of the Civil Service Organizations

The opening ceremony of legal advocacy training course No.3 for the heads of civil service organizations was held at the ground floor meeting room in the Ministry of Legal Affairs this morning.

At the opening ceremony, H.E. Dr.Thida Oo, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union, said that this course was opened, under the guidance of the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Economic Affairs Committee, for the Directors General and Deputy Directors General who are working in various Union Ministries and organizations to acquire a recognized legal diploma or certificate of expertise through the study of law;

In this course, well-experienced legal experts including the heads of the Union Level Organizations, Advocates General of the Region or State, retired subject-matter experts from the Ministry of Legal Affairs and subject-matter experts from the Ministry of Legal Affairs will deliver lectures on the Constitution, legislative drafting, vetting commercial contracts, practical application of the international law and ASEAN laws, practical application of criminal law and special Laws, civil cases, and general legal advice that should be known by the heads of civil service; the recognized certificate of expertise in law will be awarded to trainees who have completed the training courses; the Diploma in Law will be conferred after the opening of the Legal Advocacy Center;

A total of 37 trainees including Directors General, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, Commanders, Deputy Directors General, Pro-Rectors, General Managers from the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry of Planning and Finance, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation, Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation; Ministry of Electricity, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Education; Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Health, Union Election Commission, Office of the Auditor General of the Union, Union Civil Service Board, and Anti-Corruption Commission attended the training course;

Based on the feedback received from attendees who attended the previous courses, No. (1) and (2), it is known that this course provides extensive legal knowledge; this course is scheduled for ten weeks taking place every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 7:30 a.m to 10:00 a.m; she believes that the trainees will apply the knowledge gained during the course practically in their workplace for the interest of their office and the State.

The Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union, the Union Minister for the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, the Chairman of the Union Civil Service Board, the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, U Khin Maung Oo and U Kyaw San, the members of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union, U Kyaw Sein, the subject-matter expert, and the Heads of Department from the Ministry of Legal Affairs attended the opening ceremony and took the documentary photo.
