Holding the Paper Reading Session of the Legal Research Team of the Ministry of Legal Affairs

The ceremony of the 4th Paper Reading Session of the Legal Research Team of the Ministry of Legal Affairs was held at the ground floor meeting room in the Ministry of Legal Affairs this afternoon.

At the ceremony, the Union Minister of the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Attorney General of the Union, H.E. Dr. Thida Oo, said that conducting this paper reading session will provide several benefits, such as enhancing the legal knowledge of officers working at the Ministry of Legal Affairs and the offices of the Regional or State Advocate General and different levels of law offices, gaining paper reading experiences , facilitating the exchange of legal advocacy, and improving legal research work; engaging in the exchange of legal knowledge during this paper reading session will contribute to the growth of experience and knowledge; she also encourage making effort to cooperate with domestic and foreign organizations for research works; she believes that the officers will effectively apply the acquired knowledge for the benefit of the department.

After that, the Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General, Dr. Htein Lin Oo, said that the Ministry of Legal Affairs established the Legal Research Division to carry out the necessary legal research works for the long-term development of the Ministry’ s operations and the successful implementation of the legal research works outlined in the strategic plan; the legal research teams in the Ministry of Legal Affairs wrote and compiled a total of 12 papers in 2022; this paper reading session marks the fourth ceremony, where six research teams convene monthly to read the papers they have written and compiled; he also said that to increase more effort to ensure the availability of high-quality papers in the future.

During today’s paper reading session, Legal Research Team No.6 presented a paper titled “A Study on the Protection of Trademark in E-Commerce from a Legal Perspective.”.

The Directors General and Officers of the Ministry of Legal Affairs attended the ceremony in person, while the Officers from the Offices of the State or Regional Advocate General also joined the ceremony online.
