H.E. U Tun Tun Oo, the Attorney General of the Union received a delegation led by Mr. Le Thanh Long, the minister for Ministry of Justice of Vietnam at 8:30 a.m. this mornin5, d delegation led by Mr. Robert L. Dean from USAID at 10 a.m. this morning and a delegation led by Mr. Scott Siment, a consultant from IINDP at 14:30 p.m. this afternoon at the meeting room of the Union Attorney General’s Office respectively.
In the meeting with the minister for Ministry of Justice of Vietnam, they discussed about the improvement of investment and trade between Myanmar and Vietnam; the need for promoting cooperation in the legal sector in all round cooperation; the exchange of experience in legislative and judiciary affairs and regional and internal legal affairs; the cooperation for improvement of human resources.
In the meeting with a delegation led by Mr. Robert L. Dean from USAID, they discussed about performing case management phases to be more proper, prescribed Pyin Oo lwin district law office, Chan Aye Thar San township law office and Mawlamyine township law office as the Pilot law offices; striving to conduct effectively and speedily prosecution in accord with the changeover; need for promoting cooperation with relevant organizations such as court and police in the prosecution; being good and proper case management of the respective law office supports to reform the judicial sector; constantly striving for improvement of case management system of different level law offices by cooperation with USAID.
In the meeting with a delegation led by Mr. Scott Siment, a consultant of coordination body for the Rule of Law Centers and the performance of the Justice Sector, they discussed about the matters of drawing the national strategic plan of justice sector to be continued by the Coordination Body; issuance of the guidelines for Region and State Coordination Body Branches; research of the challenges of justice and Judicial sector and so on.
Permanent secretary Daw Nu Nu Yin, Director Generals Daw Khin Cho Ohn and U Min Swe and responsible persons attended those meetings.
