H.E. U Tun Tun Oo, the Attorney General of the Union received Mr. Khristian Schmidt, the Ambassador of the European Union and delegation in the International Call Chamber of the Union Attorney General’s Office at 10:30 a.m. this morning.
In the meeting, they discussed the legal aid implemented by “My Justice” team with the European Union Funds, cooperation processes with the Union Attorney General’s Office and ongoing activities to be enhanced, the role of lawyers for the rule of law and the development of justice, amendment of the Bar Council Act, and matters to be emphasized on the drafting process of the Prevention of Hate Speech Bill, and the Prevention and Protection of Violence Against Women Bill in line with international conventions and international standards.
The Deputy Attorney General U Win Myint, the Permanent Secretary Daw Nu Nu Yin and Director General Dr. Thida Oo attended the meeting.
