H.E. Dr. Thida Oo, the Union Minister of the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Attorney General of the Union, received H.E. Dr. Nikolay Listopadov, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, who is leaving upon completion of his tour of duty in Myanmar at the Meeting Hall of the Ministry on this morning.
In the meeting, the Union Minister congratulated the Ambassador on being conferred the honorary title for his performance in building sound relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and she said that closer relations between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Legal Affairs are being enhanced in establishing bilateral relations between two countries, the bilateral cooperation initiatives on legal matters outcome from her attendance the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum held at Russia in 2022 and 2023 have been undertaken, at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum 2022, the Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation invited the Ministry of Legal Affairs to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation on legal matters, a Memorandum of Cooperation has been recently signed between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Legal Affairs of Myanmar during the visit of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation to Myanmar, she also signed the Memorandum of Cooperation on legal matters between the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Legal Affairs of Myanmar in St. Petersburg, Russia, the legal cooperation are currently being enhanced under the Memorandum signed between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Legal Affairs of Myanmar and the cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation is also initiated. Then, the Ambassador cordially discussed that he has served as the Russian ambassador to Myanmar for seven years, his enormous effort was devoted to enhance bilateral relations during his tenure, this cooperation is also going to be enhanced better in future, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation is going to cooperate with the Ministry of Legal Affairs of Myanmar in relation with Legal Advocacy Center and the Suppression of Terrorism, he also wrote an article about Myanmar in the Russian Magazine and he is proud of having served his duties under successive Myanmar Governments, and he also expresses his gratitude to Head of State for conferring him honorary title. Afterwards, both sides exchanges souvenirs.
The Union Minister accompanied by the Director General of the Minister’s Office, Dr. Thi Thi Myint and the Directors General, Dr. Swe Swe Aung, Dr. Thida San and Daw Yu Yu Khin attended the meeting.
