The 5th meeting of the Coordination Body of Rule of Law Centres and Justice Sector Affairs was held in the meeting hall of the Union Attorney General’s Office at 1 1:00 a.m this morning.
In addressing the speech, H.E. U Tun Tun Oo, the Attorney General of the Union, the Chairman of the Coordination Body of Rule of Law Centres and Justice Affairs discussed that our coordination body is formed for one year on the date of 7 February; Sub-Coordination Body in Regions and States can be formed for enabling to effectively perform the rule of law and justice sector during this period; there are four members from Civil Society Organization (CSO) out of the eight members in sub-coordination body; the leader of Sub-Coordination Body, an advocate and two people from the Civil Society Organization were nominated by the respective ministers; the performances of Sub-Coordination Body are affective; it is found that the coordination between the relevant organizations is for the submission of the public; these Sub-Coordination Bodies received over five hundred number of the submission from the public within the seven months; it is required that the necessary policy, process and strategy to be laid down for enabling to carry out effectively the functions of the Coordination Body and Sub-Coordination Bodies in respect of the rule of law centres and justice sector; the local and foreign experts and civil society organizations would be invited in order to get the advice from the individuals and to know the international practice; and the National level conference will be held in March; the outcome from this conference will be implemented for the strategy of the justice sector affairs coordination for the rule of law based on the results and outline obtained in this conference; he urged the relevant ministries, organizations, civil society organizations, international partners to support for the achievement of our goal. Then, all participants who involved the meeting discussed the rule of law and justice sector affairs and upcoming conference that will held in March.
The Chairman, Vice Chairmen and members from the Coordination Body, all responsible persons from the international partner, international organizations, the members of Advisory Group and the experts attended this meeting.
