The Coordination Meeting on the Law Amending the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University Law (draft) was held in the middle floor meeting hall of the Union Attorney General’s Office at 10:00 a.m. this morning. H.E. Dr. Thida 00, the Attorney General of the Union, U San Lwin, the Deputy Attorney General, the Director General and the responsible persons of the Legislative Vetting and Advising Department and the responsible persons from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture attended the meeting.
In the meeting, the Attorney General of the Union said that she discussed and coordinated with the responsible persons from the relevant Union level departments and organizations at the meeting hall of UAGO on 9.3.2021 according to the guidance of the State Administration Council “there are a lot of pending draft laws in each Union Ministry and to enact the laws as soon as possible in coordination with the teachers serving at the Law Department of Universities and the Union Attorney General’s Office” in the State Administration Council meeting No. 1/2021 held on 8.2.2021, and submitted the list of bills which will be enacted recently to the office of the State Administration Council; she explained that the Law Amending the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University Law (bill) is not contrary to the policies and objectives set by the State and it is needed to enact this Law recently; and on 10.3.2021, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture submitted to re-open 2021-2022 intake of the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University, Buddha-Dhamma Diploma Courses and B.A, M.A and Ph.D Courses on 1.6.2021 to the State Administration Council and the Chairman of the State Administration Council approved it, and the office of the State Administration Council informed the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture on 25.3.2021 to follow the instructions on COVID-19 prevention; she said that the meetings regarding other laws which should be enacted currently will be held.
Then, the responsible persons from the Union Attorney General’s Office and the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture discussed the Law Amending the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University Law (bill) in detail.
