Holding the Opening Ceremony of Refresher Course No. (1/2023) for Mid-Level Law Officers

The Opening Ceremony of Refresher Course No. (1/2023) for Mid-Level Law Officers was held at the three-story building (middle floor) meeting hall of the Ministry of Legal Affairs this morning at 9:30. In the meeting, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union H.E. Dr. Thida Oo, delivered the opening speech.

This training course is designed for the Grade 1and Grade 2 law officers who are serving at the Ministry of Legal Affairs, Office of the Advocates General of Region or State and District Law Offices, and its aim is to enable a better understanding and enhance their efficiency in performing duties such as legislative vetting, legal advising, prosecution and contract vetting.

The following subject will be tough during the training: Legal English, Legislative Drafting, Amending Law and Subordinate Law Drafting in the Legislative Draft Vetting Subject; Contract Act,Land Lease Agreement, Force Majeure, Termination Agreement, Amendment Agreement, Dispute Settlement, Deed of Agreement, B.O.T., the Dispute Relating to the State Land Administration and Squatters, and 1955, Government Premises (Eviction) Acts in the Legal Advising Subject; Pre-Trial Legal Advice, Prosecution, Presenting an Argument, Appeal and Revision Cases and Civil Suits Proceedings in the Prosecution Subject; Civil Service Personnel Laws and Rules, Inspection of the Office, Administrative Directives, Planning the Allocation of the Budget Procedure ‘S in the Administration Subject; this training will include research paper writing and reading, discussion on the paper and examinations on each subject and prizes will be awarded based on the examination and disciplinary marks; the Certificate of Completion will be awarded to trainees who achieve 75% attendance. Experienced trainers will lead this training; all trainees must be neat, tidy, and maintain smart behaviour to enhance their abilities; the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union encouraged all the trainees to put in concerted effort on their lessons without wasting time during this training.

The training will last for 22 days with 30 trainees in attendance, and the practical sessions such as vetting the MOU and MOA, and scrutinizing the draft laws will be conducted during the training.

The Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union, the Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General, Directors General, Deputy Directors General, trainers and 30 trainees attended the opening ceremony .
