Holding the Second Meeting of the Working Committee on Drafting the National Land Law and Harmonization of the Laws Related to Land Management

          The Second Meeting of the Working Committee on Drafting the National Land Law and Harmonization of the laws related to Land Management was held at the meeting hall of the Office of the Attorney General of the Union at 9:30 a.m. today.

        During the meeting, the Attorney General of the Union said that the Workshop for developing the Action Plan of the Working Committee on Drafting the National Land Law and Harmonization of the laws related to Land Management was held twice and the Action Plan for drafting the National Land Law (Draft) was drafted;  the Action Plan (draft) is to be discussed and approved in this meeting; the National Land Law (draft) will be drafted step by step in accordance with the Action Plan; and he also urged the attendees to make an open discussion about and give suggestion for the formation of Sub-Working Groups in order to include the right persons to implement the activities in the Action Plan (Draft).

        Representatives of Hluttaws, relevant departments and Civil Society Organizations and Farmer Representatives, who are the members of the Working Committee and attend the meeting discussed about and approved the Action Plan (Draft); and they also discussed the process of drafting the National Land Law to be implemented step by step in accordance with the Action Plan without delay; backbone or content of the National Land Law (draft) to be prepared and submitted in timely manner by the Sub-Working Groups and Supporting Working Groups; and the National Land Law to be harmonized with the other existing Land Laws and to be comprehensive law.

        The Vice-Chairman and members of the Working Committee and other invitees also attended this meeting.
