H.E U Tun Tun Oo, the Attorney General of the Union, received a delegation led by Mr. Gonzalo Folres, Deputy Secretary General of International Finance Corporation, in the International Call Chamber of the Union Attorney General’s Office at 13:30 pm here this afternoon.
In the meeting, the Attorney General of the Union said that our office have to tender legal advice when requested to give advice by respective government organizations to enter into international agreements; respective ministries are observing Convention on the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID Convention), when he said that the Union Attorney General’s Office scrutinized priority over the Myanmar Investment Rules that is proceeded to issue by the respective ministry, Mr. Gonzalo Flores also discussed that the said ICSID Convention prescribed disputes settlement mechanism between investors and respective countries; IFC is providing training with intent to know advantages, consequences and requirements in relation to such convention and he wants to continue to support further requirements.
H.E U Win Myint, the Deputy Attorney General, U Min Swe, Director General and Dr.Thi Thi Myint, the Deputy Permanent Secretary attended the meeting.
