The Coordination Meeting on the Amendment to the Securities Exchange Law (Draft) was held in the meeting hall of the Ministry of Legal Affairs at 11:00 am here, this morning.
H.E. Dr. Thida Oo, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union, Dr. Htain Lin Oo, the Deputy Minister and Deputy Attomey General, Dr. Kyi Kyi Than Aung, the Director General and responsible persons from the Ministry of Legal Affairs, and responsible persons led by U Han Win Aung, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Finance and Revenue attended the meeting.
In the meeting, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union made an opening remark and U Han Win Aung, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Finance and Revenue explained that we need to amend the Securities Exchange Law, 2013 because some expressions provided in the Securities Exchange Law, 2013 practised in the Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Myanmar are inconsistent with the current situation, and the Securities Exchange Law needs to meet the standard for accession to the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).
When the responsible persons attending the meeting, discussed the provisions of the Amendment of the Security Exchange Law section by section, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union observed that amendment to the Securities Exchange Law should be made in compatible with the current situation and the priority should be given to amend the Securities Exchange Law to meet the standard required for economic development of Myanmar and for accession to the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and they finalized the discussion on the Amendment to the Securities Exchange Law (Draft).
Similarly, the final Coordination Meeting for the enactment of the Telecommunications Law (Draft) was held in the meeting hall of the Ministry of Legal Affairs at 3:00 pm here, this afternoon.
H.E. Dr. Thida Oo, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union, Dr. Htain Lin Oo, the Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General, Dr. Kyi Kyi Than Aung, the Director General and responsible persons from the Ministry of Legal Affairs, and responsible persons led by U Aung Kyaw Tun, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Transport and Communications attended the meeting.
In the meeting, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union made an opening remark and U Aung Kyaw Tun, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Transport and Communications explained for the enactment of Amendment to the Telecommunications Law (Draft).
The Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union observed that the revelant Ministry needs to amend the Telecommunications Law in order to provide recommendation on the importation of network facilities and communications equipment that in accordance with the standards prescribed by the Directorate of Communications and administrative penalties, including the payment of fine, and the amendments to the Telecommunications law should be made in compatible with the current situation and the priority should be given to amend the Telecommunications Law and they finalized the discussion on the Amendment to the Telecommunications Law.
