The Closing Ceremony of the Legal Advocacy Training Course (CLA-7) for the Heads of Civil Service Organizations from Regions and States was held at the MOLA Lecture Hall of the Legal Advocacy Center, Ministry of Legal Affairs.
The Union Minister and Union Attorney General, the Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General, a Justice of the Supreme Court, a member of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Directors-General, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Deputy Directors-General and Directors from the Ministry of Legal Affairs and trainees attended the ceremony.
Firstly, Union Minister and Union Attorney General H.E. Dr Thida Oo stated that, in accordance with the guidance on upholding the rule of law and ensuring that citizens enjoy legal protection and assistance, the Ministry of Legal Affairs laid down action plans for the public and explained them to the Advocates-General from Regions and States, Region and State Law Officers and District Law Officers; implemented legal dissemination activities using Al technology; established Pilot Law Offices; conducted interview sessions on ethic for law officers responsible for upholding the rule of law and ensuring that they maintain strong moral standards while carrying out their duties; conducted Training of Trainers (TOT) courses for Ward and Village Tract Administrators to enhance their legal knowledge; and opened this training, the Legal Advocacy Training Course (CLA-7), for the Heads of Civil Service Organization from Regions and States. The training was conducted with the aim of helping the trainees understand the basic principle of law so as to ensure that the functions and duties of government departments and organizations are carried out systematically and in compliance with the law,and contribute to the promotion of the rule of law and the development of the justice sector.
During the course, legal matters being carried out by the departments under the Ministry of Legal Affairs, as well as subjects essential for the Heads of Civil Service Organizations, were discussed and taught. These include Basic Legal Concepts, Constitutional Law, Legislative Drafting, Providing General Legal Advice, the Practical Application of International Laws and Laws in ASEAN Countries, Scrutinizing Commercial Contracts, Practical application of criminal and special laws and the Practical Application of Civil Laws. The lectures were delivered by the Union Minister and Union Attorney General, Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General, a member of the Union Advisory Council, a member of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union, a Justice of the Supreme Court, a member of the Anti-Corruption Commission, experts from the Financial Intelligence Unit, Directors General -from the Ministry of Legal Affairs, Advocates General from Yangon, Mandalay and Sagaing Regions and retired senior officers from the Ministry of Legal Affairs.
Then the Union Minister and Union Attorney General urged the trainees to practically apply the legal knowledge gained from the course in their respective workplaces for the benefit of the rule of law, their organizations, and themselves and awarded the Certificate of Legal Advocacy (CLA-7) to the trainees.
