The third meeting of the Legal Translation Commission in which the Attorney General of the Union is served as the Chairman was held in the meeting hall of the Union Attorney General’s Office at 10:00 am this morning.
H.E. U Tun Tun Oo, Attorney General of the Union, addressed in his opening speech that the Legal Translation Commission has established in March 2017; the Commission will translate the existing laws from English into Myanmar; nine translated and approved laws were published as book no.1 and no.2 of the Legal Translation Commission in July 2018; the Transfer of Property Act, the Carriage by Air Act, the Burma Official Secrets Act, the Process Fees Act, the Power of Attorney Act and the Official Trustees Act which are translated by the working groups will be approved in this meeting; 13 laws which are now translating will be approved at the next meeting; cooperation is needed for publication of translated laws and so the public will be easy to access laws and they can help in the administration of justice and dissemination of legal knowledge.
