The Attorney General of the Union delivers a speech at the opening ceremony of Refresher Course No. (112019) for mid-level Law Officers

Attorney General of the Union H.E. U Htun Htun Oo delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the Refresher Course No. (1/2019) for mid-level law officers, held in the Meeting Hall of the Union Attorney General’s Office at 10 a.m. this morning.

The Attorney General of the Union said that this course is intended to upgrade law officers’ capacity in giving legal advice on bills, international treaties and commercial contracts, prosecution and administration in accordance with the Attorney General of the Union Law and Rules; law officers shall cooperate with the relevant departments, organizations and partners to implement effectively strategic plan “Moving Forward the Rule of Law” of Union Attorney General’s Office and strategic plan “Justice for People” of Union Coordinating Body of Rule of Law Centres and Justice Sector Affairs; law officers shall act with due regard to access to justice for all, legal knowledge dissemination and legal aid; law officers need to study new subjects such as cybercrime, intellectual property and money laundering in the fields of law, and need to observe and practice Fair Trial Standards in prosecution process; trainers will use trainee-centered instruction method to be more effective training course and trainees need to try their utmost.

Deputy Attorney General, Directors General, Deputy Directors General, Directors, Trainers and 34 trainees from the Union Attorney General’s Office attended this opening ceremony. The training will last for 3 weeks.
