Holding the Workshop on Drawing up the Action Plan of the Working Committee for Drafting the National Land Law and Harmonizing the Land Management Laws

The Union Attorney General H.E. U Tun Tun Oo addressed the workshop on drawing up the action plan of the Working Committee for Drafting the National Land Law and Harmonizing the Land Management Laws was held at the Grand Amara Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw at 9 a.m. this morning.

During addressing, he said that the National Land Use Council was formed
to implement the National Land Use Policy drawn up in January, 2016; the Council formed the Working Committee for Drafting the National Land Law and Harmonizing the Land Management Laws to implement its functions; stating the ways to be followed all stakeholders participate in the national level workshops and submitting the finalized National Land Law(Bill) to the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw in article 77 of the National Land Use Policy regarding to draft the National Land Law (Bill); it is agreed to hold the workshop on drawing up action plans at the first meeting of the Working Committee for Drafting the National Land Law and Harmonizing the Land Management Laws held in October 2, 2019 to be in line with such policy; the working group is formed to be able to propose the facts to be discussed at that workshop; topics to be discussed and proposed methods are approved at the workshop based on the discussion of such working group; the workshop performed as such proposed method process is the first step toward the process of public cooperation for the emergence of the National Land Law; and it is believed that the action plans may be laid down by that workshop to perform the functions to be drafted in line with the National Land Use Policy.

During the workshop, subjects that should be known in drawing up action plans, processes to draw up the National Land Law, land management topics, formation of subgroup and its functions, and requirements and ways of solutions are going to be discussed by 7 different groups for 2 days.

Members of the Working Committee, supportive members, technical advisors, representatives from the civil society and responsible persons of the Union Attorney General’s Office attended the workshop.
