The Meeting on the Law amending the Code of Civil Procedure (bill) was held at the meeting room of the Office of the Attorney General of the Union at 10:00 a.m. this morning.
Attorney General of the Union, H.E Dr. Thida 00, Deputy Attorney General U San Lwin, Director General of the Law Vetting and Advising Department and responsible persons from the Department and the Supreme Court of the Union attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the Attorney General of the Union said that ” according to the guidance of the President of the State Administration Council at administration meeting No. 1/2021 held on 8 February-“Teachers serving in Law Departments in the respective universities and the Office of the Attorney General of the Union need to collaborate in order to enact laws as soon as possible because there are many bills in the respective ministries but have not been enacted”, we discussed this matter with the responsible persons from the respective union level departments and organizations at the meeting hall of the Office of the Attorney General of the Union on 9, March and submitted the list of bills which should be enacted currently to the State Administration Council; the objective of the law amending the Code of Civil Procedure (bill) is to insert section 89-A in the original Code for the establishment of mediation mechanism which is separate from judicial proceedings of the Supreme Coun of the Union to settle disputes amicably between disputing parties; this bill does not contravene the State policies and objectives, and it needs to be enacted currently; and we will hold the meetings on other bills which should be enacted currently”.
After that, the attendees from the Office of the Attorney General of the Union and the Supreme Court of the Union discussed about section 89-A in detail.
