Delivering Speech by the Attorney General of the Union at the opening ceremony of Refresher Course No. (29) for Law Ollicers Grade(3) and meeting with Ms.Caitlin Reiger, My Justice Team Leader

H.E. U Tun Tun Oo, Attorney General of the Union, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the Refresher Course No. (29) for law officers grade (3) in the Training Hall of the Union Attorney General’s Office.

The Attorney General of the Union said in his speech that this course is intending law officers to serve their responsibilities successfully with high capacity in line with the Attorney General of the Union Law and Rules; not only the subjects of Prosecution, Administration and Budget, Legal English, but also International Criminal Justice Principles and CEDAW Convention will be discussed in this course so as to support the improvement of Judicial System; outside lawyers and International Association such as JICA, UNDP are arranged to teach in the course and to visit chemical examiner’s office and C.I.D; law officers must be impartial and free from corruption; law officers must raise the dignity of the Union Attorney General’s Office by observing the code of ethics for law officers.

A total number of 28 township law officers and staff officers from Union Attorney General’s Office, States and Divisions will attend this course and it will last for one month.

Then, the Attorney General of the Union met and discussed with Ms. Caitlin Reiger, My Justice Team Leader at 10:00 am. In the meeting, My Justice Team explained the research for Justice that they are conducted and discussed the programmes to be conducted in order to raise legal awareness to the public for the development of rule of law and justice sector; to provide legal aid widely for accessing to justice of the public; matters on getting public confidence on judiciary including anti-corruption and effective cooperation among respective departments and organizations.

Permanent Secretary, Directors General and Deputy Directors General and Directors also attended this meeting.
