The 8th seminar of the Attorney General of the Union, Advocates General of the Region or State, and Region or State Law Officers was held by video conferencing at the meeting hall of the Office of the Attorney General of the Union at 9:30a.m. this morning.
In the seminar, the Attorney General of the Union gave the opening speech; he said that we held the seminar of the Attorney General of the Union, Advocates General of the Region or State by video conferencing because we cannot hold a plenary session; the Office of the Attorney General of the Union implemented the strategic plan (2015-2019) for ‘Moving Forward to the Rule of Law’, and now we are drafting and implementing the strategic plan (2020-2024) for ‘Legal Service for Justice’; we have established five goals to support for giving legal advice, prosecution and promoting the justice sector; we coordinate with the Coordination Body of the Rule of Law and Justice Sector on the submission during 2019-2020.
Moreover, he said that the legislative drafting guide book was distributed to the Offices of the Advocates General of the Region or State to support in vetting and advising the draft laws; there are provisions to vet the draft laws and subordinate laws in the Attorney General of the Union Rules; we are planning to add the findings related to the corruption risk assessment in vetting the draft laws; it is need to abide by laws, rules, orders and directives when giving legal advice for commercial contracts; it is need to observe the documents thoroughly in advising land issues and to know the existing laws and policies; law officers need to observe the amendment laws, repealed laws and new laws; it is need to note for not beyond the limitation period and for obtaining the certified copies of judgment in time in submitting the appeal and revision cases; law officers observe the code of ethic for the law officers and they must strive to be qualified persons.
The Deputy Attorney General, Advocates General of the Region or State, Permanent Secretary, Directors General, Deputy Directors General, Directors and Region or State Law Officers attended the Seminar. It held for two days until 16 December 2020.
