H.E. U Tun Tun Oo, the Attorney General of the Union delivered a speech at the Ceremony on the presentation of assessment of the Union Attorney General’s Office’s Strategic Plan, 2015-2019 which was held in the ground floor meeting hall of the Union Attorney General’s Office at 13:00 p.m. today.In the speech, the Attorney General of the Union said that the Union Attorney.
General’s Office has been implementing its Strategic Plan, 2015-2019, “Moving Forward to the Rule of Law” in order to support the rule of law activities; in the vision of “safeguarding by the law for the rule of law”, the Union Attorney General’s Office and various levels of law offices have been actively participating in the Strategic Plan implementation process; the assessment has been made from February to April, 20 19 with the assistance of UNDP before the completion of the plan; during the survey process, the Bill Committees, Ministries concerned, Myanmar Police Force and international development partners were interviewed, and 87 percent of the law officers from the various levels of law offices sent their answers; it is a survey which covered the majority; it is definitely important for the UAGO that which facts should be added or reviewed in the second Strategic Plan based on the assessment results so that the UAGO can improve its capacity building; appreciating the responsibl persons from UNDP, international development partners and all law officers from the UAGO for their kind assistance in conducting the assessment report and the successful implementation of the Strategic Plan.
The Deputy Attorney General, Permanent Secretary, Directors. General, Deputy Directors General and Directors of the UAGO, responsible persons from UNDP, invited guests from UNODC, IDLO, JICA, My Justice and Promoting the Rule of Law in Myanmar (PRLM) attended this meeting.
