The legislative coordination meeting was held at the meeting hall of the office of the Attorney General of the Union on March 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
H.E. Dr. Thida 00, the Attorney General of the Union, U San Lwin, Deputy Attorney General, Dr. Swe Swe Aung, Director General of the Legislative Drafting and Advising Department and the responsible persons for the relevant Union level departments and organizations attended the meeting.
In the meeting, the Attorney General of the Union said she knew that there are a lot of unenacted bills in the respective Union Ministry; this meeting is held in accordance with the guidance of the Chairman of the State Administration Council; he guided “to select the teachers from the Law Departments of Universities in cooperation with the Office of the Attorney General of the Union in order to enact the laws as soon as possible” in the administrative meeting No. 1/2021 of the State Administration Council held on 8.2.2021; the Attorney General of the Union has submitted the processes to be performed to the Office of the State Administration Council to implement the guidance of the Chairman of the State Administration Council; it is needed to submit the law to be enacted urgently during the term of the State Administration Council; it is needed to consider whether the law that requires broad consideration and public consultation should be enacted currently; it is needed to suggest for whether the laws to be enacted are likely to affect the policies and objectives of the State.
Then, U San Lwin, the Deputy Attorney General, requested the relevant Union level departments and organizations to discuss and submit whether the current bills are required to enact urgently in accordance with the current situation by taking consideration they are consistent with nine objectives of the State Administration Council in this meeting; the responsible persons for the relevant Union level departments and organizations also discuss on that matters. The meeting concluded at 12:00 noon.
