The opening ceremony of the refresher course No. 1/2022 for law officers grade-4 (probationary period) of the Ministry of Legal Affairs was held at the Ministry of Legal Affairs this morning.
At the opening ceremony, U Sann Lwin, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Deputy Attorney General delivered the speech and he said that this course is refresher course for the new law officers who have been appointed in accordance with rule 171 of the Attorney General of the Union Rules and the purposes of this training course are: to ensure that the new law officers understand and observe the code of ethics for law officers, ethics and disciplines of civil service personnel; perform duties efficiently with a deeper understanding of the provisions of the Attorney General of the Union Law and Rules, the formation, functions and duties of the Ministry of Legal Affairs and law officers; to understand and carry out the matters relating to administration, preparing and maintaining budget; and to promote professional skills of the junior law officers. He also said that the law officers who have been newly appointed are civil service personnel and they can be assumed that they are participating in the long-distance race; that is why law officers need to have the strength for short-distance race, stamina for middle-distance race and perseverance for long-distance race; and he urged them to work hard for achieving long-term goals and to study Laws as well as English to become proficient at them.
Directors General, Deputy Directors General, Directors, trainers and trainees also attended the opening ceremony.
The duration of this training course will be 46 days and there will be 100 trainees (50 male and 50 female). Legal English, and the subjects relating to Administration and Prosecution will be taught, and the mock trial will be conducted during the training course.
