Holding the Second Meeting of the Working Group on Drafting the National Land Law by using Virtual Meeting Platform

The second meeting of the working group on drafting the National Land Law was held in the meeting hall of the Office of the Attorney General of the Union by using virtual meeting platform at 10:00 a.m. on 16th October,2020.

At the meeting, U Win Myint, the Deputy Attorney General of the Union, Chairman of the working group on drafting the National Land Law, delivered a speech and he said that the second meeting of the working group on drafting the National Land Law is held only on this day because of the occurrence of the pandemic Covid-19 disease; the main functions of the working group on drafting the National Land Law are to initiate the draft of the National Land Law which covers the existing laws related to the land management, in accordance with the National Land Use Policy; to study the existing laws related to the land management for harmonization of the existing land management laws and to find facts required for the amendment of and insertion into those laws; and finally he urged 7 small working groups comprising the relevant Ministries, civil society organizations and experts as the members and led by the Directors General and Deputy Directors General from the relevant Ministries who are the member of the working group, to perform their duties efficiently in the respective sectors.

Then, after the members of the working group attending the second meeting of the working group had discussed and recommended on those processes, the Chairman of the working group also discussed again by giving additional recommendations.

The representatives from Hluttaws, relevant Ministries and civil society organizations who are the members of the working group, also attended the meeting.
