The third virtual meeting of the Support Working Group on drafting the National Land Law was held at the meeting hall of the office of the Attorney General of the Union at 9:30a.m on 26th January, 2021.
At the meeting, U Win Myint , Deputy Attorney General of the Union, Chairman of the Support Working Group on drafting the National Land Law, said that the Support Working Group on drafting the National Land Law shall implement the initial drafting process of the National Land Law by the lead of Working Committee according to the work plan; he thanks seven Sub-Working Groups for carrying out their respective tasks and submitting reports according to the initial preparation process in work plan; and in the meeting, we have to discuss and give advice on formation of the Coordination Body to serve as a liaison body among working Committee, Support Working Group and seven Sub-Working Groups as decided at the third meeting of the Working Committee , and raising public awareness and processes of work plan on drafting the National Land Law that will be implemented by the Sub Working Group by the lead of the Working Committee. He also urged all attendees to consider the issues and challenges that may arise from drafting the National Land Law to ensure that the backbone of the draft National Land Law represents all existing land laws, in accordance with the National Land Use Policy.
After that, the members of Support Working Group and the Land Use Technical Advisory Committee who attended the third meeting of the Support Working Group discussed and suggested on the matters mentioned in Chairman ‘s speech and the chairman of the Support Working Group added his suggestion.
Members of the Support Working Group, Hluttaw representatives and representatives from relevant Ministries and Civil Society Organization who are members of Technical Advisory Board are also attended the meeting.
