The seventh coordination meeting of the Union Attorney General with Advocates General of the Regions/ States, Law officers of the Regions/ States and district Law Officers was held at the ground floor meeting room of the Union Attorney General’s Office at 9:00a.m., today.
In this meeting, the Union Attorney General delivered the opening speech and he said that law officers need to be competent in conducting cases; they must know which laws are applicable to a certain case and always know existing laws, amending laws, repeal laws and new laws; legal advice should be given in accordance with existing laws and to be aware of giving incorrect legal advice; law officers need to submit appeals and revisions within the limitation period and apply for certified copies of court judgements in time; they also should carry out in accordance with the Union Attorney General law, rules, prosecution directives and management directives in submitting arguments; Advocate General’s Offices of the Regions/ States must carry out in accordance with the Union Attorney General Office’s directives on giving legal advice when scrutinizing construction contracts, transfer agreements, and procurement contracts; directives on the Land and Property Bank issued by the President’s Office must also be followed when leasing, transferring of and joint venture on state-owned land and property; matters on confiscated lands shall be reviewed in accordance with the policies adopted by the Central Committee for reviewing confiscated farmland and other lands; applications for industries nationalized under the Nationalization of Industries Law, 1963 shall also be reviewed in accordance with the policy of the Union Government Office; and law officers must try the best to be qualified and follow law officer’s ethics.
The Deputy Attorney General, Advocates General of the Regions/ States, Permanent Secretary, Directors General, Deputy Directors General, Directors, and Law Officers from the Regions/ States and district law officers attended this coordination meeting. The meeting will continue until 28.11. 2019 and lasts for two days.
