H.E. Dr.Thida Oo, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union accompanied with the Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General, the Director General of the Minister’s Office and the Directors General of the Departments, the Deputy Permanent Secretary and the responsible persons inspect the earthquake devastated government housing in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory here this morning and meet with and encourage staff families.
Firstly, she looks around the devastation of building No. 126, 127, 128 and 129 in Khayay Housing, building No. 1329, 1330 and 1375 in acre 1000, Thapyay 4 building 6 (hostel), Thazin 6 hostel, Thazin 4 Shwe Ka Thit (Hostel) and the government housing in Ottarathiri Township and meets with and encourages the staff.
In meeting with staff, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union said that it is the first devastating earthquake during over a century, due to the earthquake, most of the offices, housings, roads and bridges were damaged, as a State, the arrangements are undertaken to distribute temporary shelters and toilets, although the staff are living in the nice shady places near their own properties at present, temporary shelters will be built in the large area like carparking of the Minister’s Office and distributed medicine and foodstuff during these days, while natural disasters cannot be prevented, we must face them without fear, rescue works are under in places where the situation is worse than theirs, most of the current staff housing is having difficulties in continuing to live there, from this day, we will be distributing meals of staff families in need and addressing issues raised by staff regarding temporary toilets, telephone charging and other services.
As such the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union inspected the devastated government housing and meets with and encourages the staff.
