The Bar Council’s Meeting No.2/2025 was held at the Bar Council Office in Cluster1, Building No.6, Nay Pyi Taw Goal Camp, Wanathidi Quarter, Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw on 3 rd December 2025 (Wednesday) at 9:30 a.m..
During the meeting, the following matters were discussed and determined, the request from the Union Supreme Court whether there is any objection to the applications for enrollment as advocates submitted by 371 higher grade pleaders, the request from the Union Supreme Court concerning whether suitable action should be taken or not against 31 advocates who violated professional conduct under section 10(1) of the Bar Council Act, the request of 4 advocates for the Bar Council to certify their good moral character for the purpose of applying as Bank Lawyer, the explaination about Legal Round Table Discussion (1) conducted by advocates; the matter relating to the Rule I(b), Rule 8 and Rule 15 of the Rules for Enrollment as Advocates 1954 to be amended; record of complaints referred to the Union Supreme Court, record of duplication of order records of matters relating to severe warning, suspension, cancellation of proceeding against advocate: and the matter of repairing the Apron and water drainage lines under the zinc roof of Bar Council Office Building.
Led by H.E. Dr. Thida Oo, the Union Minister of the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Attorney General of the Union the Chairperson of the Bar Council, and U Myo Tint, the Supreme Court Judge of the Union Supreme Court and Vice-Chairperson of the Bar Council, Dr. Htein Lin 00, Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General of the Union and member of the Bar Council, the members of the Bar Council and the responsible persons attended the meeting.
