Holding the Opening Ceremony of the New Building of Mawlamyinegyun Township Law Office and Staff Housing

The opening ceremony of the new building of Mawlamyinegyun Township Law Office and Staff housing in Ayeyarwaddy Region was held at such law office and Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union of the Ministry of Legal Affairs H.E. Dr. Thida Oo, Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General, Minister of Security and Border Affairs of the Region and Minister of the members of the Government, Chief Justice of the Region, Advocate General of the Region and responsible persons attended the ceremony.

Firstly, Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union of the Ministry of Legal Affairs, Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General, Minister of Security and Border Affairs of the Region, Chief Justice of the Region, Advocate General of the Region and responsible persons opened the building with ribbon cutting ceremony and sprinkled scented water on the commemorative plaque of the new building.

In the inauguration speech, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union said that meanwhile the Ministry of the Legal Affairs adopted the Strategic plan: “Building Legal Trust for the People (2025 – 2029)”, repairing offices, building and continuously maintain clean and pleasant office surroundings are included as Goals and it has been implemented as a first priority, opening of the building of the new Law Office as such is also a fulfillment of the those goals of the Strategic Plan, the new building of Mawlamyinegyun Township Law Office and Staff housing is a two-storey reinforced concrete structure measuring 60 feet in length and 45 feet in width and constructed by Thaw Zin Thant Co,Ltd, 3 District Law offices, 10 Township Law Offices, 8 Officer Housing (private) and 13 Township Law Offices with integrated Staff housing including the Mawlamyinegyun Township Law Office opened today were built during the period from 2021 to 2025, the achievement of the build of the new Law Offices and Staff housing met with standard was physically development, it filled us with euphoria that the Officers and Staffs are going to perform their duties peacefully.

Then the Union Minister and Attorney General and responsible persons looked around the new Office building and Staff housing.

Afterwards, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union H.E. Dr. Thida Oo together with the Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General, Advocate General of the Region, Directors General from the Ministry of Legal Affairs, the Deputy Permanent Secretary, Deputy Directors General and responsible persons met with the officers and staff from the Ayeyarwady Region and delivered remarks.

In the remark, she also said that Law Officers need to observe Code of Ethics for Law Officers and Conduct of Civil Service Personnel precisely that the complaints sent to the MOLA are speaking arrogantly and rudely to the parties during trial, they shall require to keep in mind anti-corruption in performing functions and duties, consequently it would support the Rule of Law, Law Officers and Staff are required to refrain from corruption with due care and attention that the findings in the complaints are demanding a bribe in matters of legal advice, conducting cases and compounding and withdrawing, she gave the warning to some Law Officers and Staff that they did not abide by the directives issued by Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union from time to time in which; “Not to comment an negative reputation of our Ministry and Organization and office’s function” and “Law Officers and Staff need to behave as per their position in accordance with Code of Ethics for Law Officers and Conduct of Civil Service Personnel in social relations, personal affairs.

Furthermore, the attended Law Officers explained their activities and Advocate General of the Region elaborates them. Finally, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union fulfilled the requirements.
