Holding the Launching Ceremony of Strategic Plan (2020-2024) of the Office of the Attorney General of the Union

H.E U Tun Tun Oo, the Attorney General of the Union delivered a speech at the launching ceremony of strategic plan (2020-2024) of the Office of the Attorney General of the Union held at the Park Royal Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw at 08:30a.m. this morning.

In the ceremony, the Attorney General of the Union said that the first Strategic Plan: “Moving Forward to the Rule of Law” (2015-2019) of the Office of the Attorney General of the Union was drawn by the assistance of UNDP, and implemented with four goals from 2015; such plan was accomplished in 2019, and the second Strategic Plan: “Providing Legal Service for Justice” (2020-2024) was drawn by the assistance of USAID (PRLM- Promoting Rule of Law in Myanmar) ; the second five-year Strategic Plan was drawn based on the weakness, strength , suggestion and experience gained from the analysis and survey on the implementation of the first five-year Strategic Plan; 5 goals, 15 strategic objectives and 40 strategic programmes were drawn in this Strategic Plan; the consultation . meetings were held with the Region or State Advocate General’s Offices, Hluttaw, civil society organizations, international partner organizations, professors of the law department and other related organizations in the justice sector in the process of this Strategic Plan; the suggestions and inputs gained from the consultation meeting were added in the Strategic Plan; the Strategic Plan is drawn not only for the Office of the Attorney General of the Union and different levels of law offices but also to provide legal services for the public, access to justice for all and gain the public trust in the performance of different levels of law offices; the relevant Ministry organizations, international partner organizations, civil society organizations, and all relevant persons in various sectors will be cooperated to succeed the Strategic Plan; he also appreciated the efforts of all participants in drawing the Strategic Plan and the persons who will assist in the implementation process of it.

The Deputy Attorney General, Chairperson of the Pyithu Hluttaw Bill Committee, Acting Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Commission, member of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission, Advocates General of the Region and State, Hluttaw Representatives, Deputy Chairperson of the Bar Council, Secretary of the Union Legal Aid Board, Permanent Secretary, Directors General, Deputy Directors General, Directors, representatives of civil society organizations and international partner organizations, and other invited persons also attended this ceremony.
