Holding the Opening Ceremony of the Legal Advocacy Training Course No. (1) for the Heads of Civil Service Organizations from Regions and States

The opening ceremony of the Legal Advocacy Training Course No. (1) for the Heads of Civil Service Organizations from Regions and States (Deputy Director General level) was held at the MOLA Lecture Hall of the Legal Advocacy Center, Ministry of Legal Affairs.

The Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union, Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General, Permanent Secretary, Directors General, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Deputy Directors General, Directors of the Ministry of Legal Affairs and trainees attended the ceremony.

Firstly, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union addressed that, the Ministry of Legal Affairs conducts the Legal Advocacy Training Course No. l for the Heads of Civil Service Organizations at the level of Deputy Director General and above who are serving in various government organizations of the Regions and States, in accordance with the guidance to enhance their understanding of legal affairs; this training course is opened to ensure that government organizations implement their duties systematically and lawfully, to understand the basic legal concepts, and to contribute to the development of the rule of law and the justice sector; the Ministry of Legal Affairs has been carrying out legal awareness initiatives through various approaches as an indicator of the rule of law by implementing  the Strategic Plan (2025 – 2029) under the theme of “Building Legal Trust For the People”, regarding the Legal Advocacy Training Course, Training Courses No. 1 to No. 6 have been successfully conducted at the Union Level for the Heads of Civil Service Organizations, a total of 178 senior officials from Union Ministries and government organizations have successfully attended and completed the training; in this training course, lectures will be delivered on the following subjects: Basic Legal Concepts, Constitutional Law, Legislative Drafting, Providing General Legal Advice, the Practical Application of International and ASEAN Law, Scrutinizing Commercial Contracts, Practical application of Criminal and Special Laws and the Practical Application of Civil Laws; the lectures will be delivered by myself, the Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General, a member of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union, subject experts from the Financial Intelligence Unit, Advocates General from Yangon and Mandalay Regions, Directors General, subject experts from the Ministry of Legal Affairs and retired subject experts; upon completion of the training, the Certificate of Legal Advocacy (CLA) will be awarded; she urged the trainees to study diligently and pay close attention so that they could practically apply the knowledge gained from the legal subjects taught during the training in their respective workplaces.

The training course will be opened for four weeks, form 1st July to 28.
