The ceremony of the 5th Reading and Discussion of Legal Research Papers by the Law Officers from the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Offices of Region or State Advocate General was held today from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the ground floor room at the Legal Advocacy Center of the Ministry of Legal Affairs.
At the ceremony, Union Minister and Union Attorney General H.E. Dr. Thida Oo said that legal research work is an important work for the development of the legal sector and for providing legal service and legal advice; conducting this paper reading session will provide several benefits, such as enabling necessary legal research works for the long-term development of the Ministry of Legal Affairs, successful implementing of legal research works as outlined in the strategic plan, this session will benefit to officers of the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Offices of Region or State Advocate General and different level of Law Offices by improving legal knowledge, gaining experience in paper reading and, facilitating the exchange of legal knowledge; cooperating with local and foreign organizations to develop legal research works; today, six legal research teams from the Ministry of Legal Affairs will read six research papers, these include topic related to Antiterrorism Law, Water Utilization Law, papers relating to the Commercial Contracts and the International Law; conducting this paper reading session will provide legal advocacy and the rule of law;
The Ministry of Legal Affairs, in accordance with the strategy of Providing Legal Service for Justice (2019-2024), is conducting legal advocacy at a rapid pace, and the legal research works carried out as a form of legal service plays a crucial role; therefore, she encouraged to continue writing and reading legal research papers like this.
At the ceremony, after six legal research teams read and discussed six research papers, the Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General delivered closing remarks. This ceremony was attended by the Directors-General and Officers of the Ministry of Legal Affairs, law officers from the Offices of the Region or State Advocate General, and person invited by other departments.
