The 4th Meeting of Coordination Body for Rule of Law and Justice Sector Held

Subject of News:- The 4th meeting of the Coordination Body for Rule of Law and Justice Sector was held at the ground floor meeting hall of the Union Attorney General’s   office at 9:00 a.m this morning.

       H.E. U Tun Tun Oo, the Attorney General of the Union and Chairman of the Coordination Body for the Rule of Law and Justice Sector said in his opening speech that coordination bodies were formed in Regions and States in order to effectively coordinate for the rule of law and justice sector; a total of 95 cases submitted by the public from Kachin, Sagaing, Magwe, Yangon, Bago, Ayeyawady, Rakhine, Shan and Mandalay; in respect of submissions, coordination bodies coordinate with relevant departments and suggest that they have a right of appeal in accordance with the law and they  may file the case to the respective police station; coordination bodies were formed with government officials, representatives from civil society organizations and legal experts and if they work together in unity, rule of law will improve; we will coordinate with local and foreign organizations to achieve the functions of centres; we are planning to hold the Rule of law and Justice Sector Forum with intent to set up future plans for improving rule of law and will make preparations to hold successfully such forum. Then, meeting attendees discussed widely on what to be done for rule of law and justice sector and preparation works for the forum.

        The Chairman, vice chairman and members of coordination bodies for rule of law and justice sector, advisory – groups’ members and invited guests from international organizations also attended the meeting.
