Holding the Opening Ceremony of the On-Job Training Course No.1/2024 for Law Officers Grade-4 (Probation)

The opening ceremony of On-Job Training Course No.1/2024 for Law Officers Grade-4 (Probation) was held at the ground floor meeting hall of the Ministry of Legal Affairs this morning.
At the ceremony, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union H.E. Dr. Thida Oo said that this training is conducted for newly appointed Law Officers in accordance with the Union Attorney General Law and Rules ; a Law Officer is required to fulfil their qualification; this training will cover Law subjects and the Code of Ethics for Law Officers, Ethics for Civil Service Personnel and Civil Service Personnel Rules and regulations, aiming for trainees to understand and comply with them.

The training will teach the provisions outlined in the Union Attorney General Law and Rules, the Constitution, functions of the Ministry of Legal Affairs, duties and functions of the Law officers, administration and budgetary matters; the Ministry of Legal Affairs is performing its duties in accordance with the strategic plan(20202024) vision of “Providing Legal Service for Justice”; the Ministry of Legal Affairs is providing various forms of legal services such as vetting and advising on draft laws, vetting and providing legal advice on international conventions and commercial contracts, conducting prosecutions on behalf of the State; moreover, the Ministry of Legal Affairs has established the Myanmar Law Information System (MLIS) as an integral component of its legal services;

the training will cover necessary subjects including Laws, Rules, Office Manual and Prosecution Matters, moot court exercises, Strategic Plan, Code of Ethic for Law officers, Fair Trial Standards; furthermore, external experts and the responsible person from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and forensic pathologist will be invited to teach in the training; the trainees are required to actively participate in learning and note well during the training to become valuable Law officers for the State and the Ministry and aiming to provide efficient legal services for the public.

The Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union, the Deputy Minister and the Deputy Attorney General, Directors General, Deputy Permanent Secretary Deputy Directors General, the responsible persons, trainers and trainees attended the opening ceremony.
