The meeting of the Bar council No.2/2016 was held at the meeting hall of the Union Attorney General’s Office at 10:00 am this morning.
In this meeting, the chairperson of the Bar council, the Attorney General of the Union, U Tun Tun Oo delivered an address that while we are currently performing the rule of law, justice sector reform and legal aid for the public as a priority , the Bar Council should urge advocates to further cooperate in the process; it will be successful for the development of the rule of law and justice sector with cooperation of prosecuting bodies including judges, law officers, police and lawyers, organizations and the public; we all need to perform dutifully with good will; we should try to get public trust on machinery of justice while performing the development of the country by the government; lawyers who included in the judicial mechanism need to cooperate by being aware of their responsibility and importance; advocates should value their professional advancement and improvement of ethics and the Bar Council should make endeavour to perform the tasks of the Bar Council.
In this meeting,34l applications for advocates are scrutinized and approved.
The Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and nine members of the Bar Council attended this meeting.
