Holding the Meeting to enact the Law Amending the Myanmar Registration of Ships Act(draft)

The meeting to enact the Law Amending the Myanmar Registration of Ships Act(draft) was held at the meeting room of the Ministry of Legal Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw this morning at 10:00 a.m.

H.E. Dr. Thida  Oo, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union, H.E. Dr. Htain Lin Oo, the Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General, Dr. Thida San, the

Director General of the Legislative Draft Vetting Department and Officials, H.E. U Aung Kyaw Tun, the Deputy Minister, and Officials from the Ministry of Transport and Communications attended the meeting.

In the meeting, the respective officials from the Ministry of Transport and Communications discussed that the Myanmar Registration of Ships Act, enacted in English, is amended in English under the guidance of the State Administration Council before enacting the new Myanmar Registration of Ships Law, in order to align with Myanmar’s current market economy system and policies that encourage foreign direct investment (FDI), and to ensure consistency with foreign investment and state-applied policies; the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union discussed that the Myanmar Registration of Ships Act is necessary to amend to be in line with the current conditions and finalised the discussion on the sections to be amended.
